Chia and sesame seed GF crackers

Sesame and chia seed crackers

Currently I have the biggest jar of coconut flour in my cupboard. I bought it after getting hooked into a book about quitting sugar. That went well for a couple of months, long enough for me to come to the conclusion that I would never quit sugar. I mean, have you seen my feed? So the huge bag of coconut flour is a a reminant of that period. Coconut flour scares me as I have never used it outside of specific recipe regulations. But with the purpose to make good use of it I decided to go rogue. Well crackers aren’t that rogue. No raising agent, pulsing everything in a food processor. And the right dip makes all the difference. Hard to go wrong. As a snacker, crackers are such an important part of my day. If I could have 10 well rounded snacks throughout the day rather than 3 round meals I would. I live for snacks. And because I live for snacks I am always trying to evolve them into something different. Banana and dark chocolate chia pudding

I  laid in bed yesterday thinking since when did I become such an angry, inpatient person? I have been snapping at everyone recently and even beeped my horn at a slow driver yesterday – a big no-no in England. The feeling of guilt ate me up afterwards. How must I have made that driver feel? What if it was an old lady or a teenager learning how to drive? The changes are palpable, not only in terms of emotions but also in regards to my stomach. My diet has changed considerably in the last few months, I have been trying to cut down on refined sugar and starchy foods and as a result I have been craving chocolate less and less, or in fact any sweet stuff. Result! But do you ever feel like sometimes food rules your emotions? My period then came and like clockwork, chocolate is all I thought about. Food is an emotional thing, and my body

cashew protein boost balls

I love being outdoors…for a nice walk, a picnic or a bonfire party. But when it comes to exercising being outdoors is not my thing. I like a mud-free, climate controlled environment. Regardless of the environment being fit is very important to me, especially when I feel stressed, running and boxing are great ways to release stress. With an increase in my exercise routine in the last few months I have noticed that my body is asking me for more food, and it’s very hard not to oblige. If you are a serious gym goer, protein intake is no joke. A lack of protein in your diet can causes muscle weakness, fatigue and lethargy. And I ain’t got time for that. A gym buddy introduced me to protein balls, the popular brand I tried tasted nice but felt a little like a jawbreaker and were incredibly dry.  I liked the idea of a high protein snack so decided to start playing with a few ingredients. This is a great recipe, and it is not only for gym lovers, these little balls are a good pick me up for the slump in those hours between breakfast and lunch. Chia seeds is my favourite
